Colorful HP Mini 210 compact mini computer

Most netbooks are black or white, but the HP Mini 210 comes in black, silver, blue or red. Specifications recalls, however, most other models.

HP Mini 210 follows up the mini-computers ( netbooks ), which HP has launched its mini-series. The screen is 10.1 inches and has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It should be possible to play movies in HD quality on the screen, and with an external Blu-ray player (sold separately) you can also play Blu-ray movies. HDMI port for connection to flat-screen TV is sadly lacking.

The processor is an Intel Celeron at 1.6 GHz and the internal memory of 1 GB expandable to 2 GB. The hard disk is in either 160 GB that spin at 5400 RPM or 250 GB at 7200 RPM. The graphics card is from Intel.

Among the ports are three USB2, VGA, Ethernet and combined mic or headphones.Wireless networks are so clearly inbyggdt, although the specifications do not describe the standard to which this is - probably 802.11b / g; Other internal features include memory card reader and webcam.

The cheapest model in the Mini 210 series features a 3-cell battery, and they have more expensive 6-cell batteries. Are you working with the computer on battery power, recommended six-cells. The price starts at 3290 kronor .

Nikon CoolPix S70 offers a retro feel

Digital Camera Nikon CoolPix S70 comes with a stylish retro design with a chassis that includes leather in cream color. Another interesting feature of kamerna is that it uses an OLED screen.

Manufacturers of digital cameras have increasingly begun to focus on design, now that the hysteria about delivering the highest number of megapixels has calmed down. Retro design, we have seen before on a number of models, including the popular Olympus PEN - an SLR that had really good reviews, and that is very pretty.

Nikon CoolPix S70 is a compact camera that is small and compact in size, and it has a sensor with 12.1 megapixels and an optical zoom of 5x. In addition to taking still pictures, you can record video in Full HD resolution.

The screen measures 3.5 inches, which is quite large, and instead of the usual LCD has chosen to use the relatively new technology OLED . This will provide better clarity and brightness, but still does not display so well in sunlight.

Make your own photo book - a popular Christmas gift

If you have a bunch of digital photos from your holiday or wedding, you would like to gather in a beautiful way? More and more home users have begun to create their own photo books through the printing services available online.

Just a few years ago, it was only to provoke digital photos to plain paper. It looks completely different today. Today most companies offer the possibility to get prints on everything from canvas and coffee mugs to clothing, and postcards, posters and photo books .

    - It was not this year's Christmas present this year, but the industry is growing fast, says Patrick Mark, CEO of Swedish Photo Home. Three years ago was the concept photo book almost unknown, now know most of what is at stake.

A photo book is just what it sounds like. It is a book whose pages are adorned with your digital photos. The possibilities are great and you can often design your book a bit anyway. The different printing companies have different types of templates to work after, so it's worth checking around to find what you're looking for.

Prices vary greatly between the different providers. At Home Photo does a photo book with hard covers, mid-size, and up to 48 pages 579 kronor. One, according to specifications, similar book in Foto.com costs 225 dollars. The quality can of course be different, which you should check if you want to be extra careful.

    Test: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 offers complete protection of your computer in the form of antivirus, firewall, parental controls, phishing protection, so called Sandbox and everything else you could want. This without requiring too much of your computer.

When Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 launched in the Swedish version, we published a news about it and promised to come back with a test. Now I have test driven security package on a laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate and I can already tell you first that I have been happy with the security package.

As I wrote in the article on trends in the antivirus 2010 has security firms this year focused more on programs to trim down further, and that you move out much of the control of dangerous code to the cloud. This means that your security software communicates with the security company's servers to keep track of whether the programs you run or download is legitimate.

This type of solution in the cloud has become a must. The previous technique was based on signatures (virus signatures, or definition lists) but since it released today around 25,000 new unsafe code every day (Source: Symantec ) , there is no way to keep everybody abreast of new signature files. To update its antivirus once a day is no longer enough. Therefore, it is smart to take it to the cloud, and thereby obtain protection against the latest threats in real time.

    Installera Kaspersky 2010

As I wrote above, I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 on a laptop withWindows 7 Ultimate operating system. The computer is rather limited in its technology and contains only an Intel Pentium Mobile processor at 1.73 GHz and 1 GB of internal memory.

By running on an older machine, I think you get a more accurate picture of how the software package will really work out to ordinary people, where you rarely have a computer of top model. In addition, you see the manufacturers told the truth when they talk about their software requires little computing power.

The installation is not much to talk about. It went quickly and smoothly. The process took about fifteen minutes and then loaded including an update to the latest version of the program down. When installation was finished, I found out that the computer was protected, and then stayed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 quietly in the background - just as you would like a security package to do.

There was a problem, and it was that I did after the installation did not come to my other computers or my NAS on the network. It is a fairly common problem after you have installed a firewall, so after changing the rights to the firewall it worked again.

    New features in Windows 7

Today Microsoft launched Windows 7. Staff members of the PCOnline run the operating system for a while now and have only good things to say about Vista's successor. In this article you will learn about the best new features AI Windows 7!

Windows 7 has been called the " evolution - not revolution ". It is based on the fact that Windows 7 is a major upgrade of Vista. The operating system contains many new and even more improvements, but there is no revolution. By contrast, the computer much easier and faster to work with. Therefore, I can heartily recommend upgrading.

There are a bunch of new features that are worth an extra look at the Windows 7.Learn them to work better in the system.

    1st Better system tray

Taskbar has become much better, with Windows 7. You can now pay programs in the taskbar, which works much like toolbars where you added shortcuts in previous versions. Now you can add icons anywhere. Just drag the icon for a program and drop anywhere on the taskbar.

When you right-click a program on the taskbar, you get a context menu where the functions are attached to the tool. Have you added the Internet Explorer menu will contain links to frequently visited Web pages, a link to InPrivate Browsing and little else. You can attach links that you always want to be found there by clicking on the icon that looks like a drawing pin.

Drag the mouse pointer over the active program will display a thumbnail image. If you continue dragging the mouse over the thumbnails displayed window and click the button jumps to the window - or the tab if the program is working with the tab system - your choice.

    2nd Notification Area icons collectors

In previous Windows have shown a lot of icons down in the notification area (also called the system tray), the far right. It has been possible to group these from Windows XP but in Windows 7, Microsoft has instead collected icons in a small box.

If you click on the icon "Show hidden icons , a pop-up box will appear with all the icons. This is smoother than the previous function as it sometimes did not have time to click on an icon before hiding them again.

    3rd No more balloons

Windows 7 has finally done something about all those balloon messages that flies in the time and dates down in your system tray. If you drive with high resolution and a giant screen, this is not a big problem, but on a small screen is annoying.

Now are all these messages grouped under the icon that looks like a flag. If you click it, you get a list of tasks you need to do. Here you can see if it is time for an update of Windows, or anything else.

    4. Gadgets You were Villager

With Windows Vista was presented gadgets - small applications that you could put in a sidebar. Windows 7 is no longer a sidebar. I think this is positive because it will use that part of the desktop as usual, by placing icons there anyway, without being hindered by a sidebar.

Gadgets, you can place anywhere on your desktop. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and in menu select gadgets. In the window that pops up, click on the gadgets you want. Then, just drag them to place them anywhere you want. For the mouse pointer over a gadget, a small sidebar, where you can close them.

5th Speeding up search in the Start Menu

The search field in the Start Menu is a good start for finding files. Windows 7 has made this operation much faster than in Vista - at least in my experience. Results appear as you enter your keywords. What you can use to launch applications quickly and easily.

Also new with the search function is that it is not just limited to the local computer, but searches are also made on the attached devices. It makes your computers and network hard drives are much more interconnected in Windows 7.

6th HomeGroup make file sharing easier

The new feature HomeGroup makes it a cinch to connect and share files between Windows 7 computers. The function is really just a shell over the existing functions of file sharing on home networks, but it makes really work.

When you started a home group on a Windows 7 PC and connect another to the same network, it will notice that there is an existing home group and ask if you want to connect to it. Do you work computers will be able to share files between each other.

    7th Aero Snap attaches window

This may sound like trivial features, but the fact is that you are sure to use them often. If you drag a window and drop it either to the left and right of the screen, it will resize and position themselves so that you can add two windows together with each other. This is great for copy files, compare documents and the like.

Drag and drop a window at the top of the screen, it will be maximized. These features, known as Aero Snap .

Aero Shake is a different function in the same area. Click on a leaderboard on a window, hold the mouse button and shake the mouse, so minimize all other open windows.

Finally, take a look at the task bar, bottom right. There is a small toned area. There is an icon used to show the desktop. Clicking on the minimize all windows. If you click again, restored the windows. And you just hold your mouse over the icon your desktop.

    8. Lättare med Teman

It has become easier to personalize your Windows. According to Microsoft, as many as 90 percent of users who adjust their windows to look like they want. It includes background images, sound effects, themes, and so on.

Right-click the desktop and select Customize for your setup. From here you can activate different themes and you can also download new themes for free. You'll also find a button to set the sound effects, and a button for screensavers.

Shuttle X500V, en rackarns Tunn allt-i-ett-PC!

Shuttle, which is known to manufacture small desktop computers, has now presented its new project - Shuttle X500V. This is an all-in-a-computer where you have the entire PC mounted in the screen. Very cool!

Shuttle X500V is by no means the firstall-in-one PC on the market. Absolutely not. There is rather a trend in the construction of this kind. Not as big as the trend of mini-computers, but all-in-one computers are growing in popularity.Everything from basic models up to such as Apple's iMac .

An all-in-one PC looks like a monitor, though you have built into your computer's hardware in it. Thus you do not have lots of cords and it takes up much less space. You can also hang up your computer to the wall, if you want to treat themselves to and have a computer in the kitchen. The computers are usually touch-sensitive screensthat allow you not necessarily need the mouse and keyboard.

Shuttle's computer has a thickness at a paltry 3.6 inches. The actual screen is a 15.6-incher that can handle 1366 x 768 pixels. The specifications on the computer's hardware includes an Intel Atom 330 Dual-Core processor at 1.6 GHz x 2, 1 GB of internal memory and a 160GB hard drive.

Furthermore, the computer has a webcam of 1.3 megapixel, built-in speakers and microphone and card reader. Network connection is either via a gigabit Ethernet or wireless 802.11n. Among the ports you'll find five USB ports, VGA and six-channel audio.

Interesting to mention is that the Shuttle delivers his X500V with Linux as operating system. It's a bit cheeky, given that so many other manufacturers of cheap computers make Linux and bet only on Windows XP (and later Windows 7 ).

Shuttle X500V has a suggested starting price of 444 EUR excluding VAT. What it gets in the Swedish market is uncertain.

Cooler with the laptop on your lap

To have the laptop on your lap can become very hot after a while. As anyone who has sat on the couch or bed and surfed. Therefore, there are products that you can set your computer on for it to be cooler. Philips Notebook Sleeve is now launched on the market.

Philips Notebook Sleeve is a heat dissipating knee as you set your laptop on when you have your lap. This type of protection not only helps you to avoid burns, but is also good for your computer. Once you have your laptop on your lap, it will quickly become very hot, and it is partly because it does not get any good air circulation in this position.

Philips Notebook Sleeve costs SEK 499 and are available commercially. It consists of a hard plastic disc that you set your computer on, and the bottom is a soft pillow to rest against his knee.

However, there are several other similar solutions. IKEA, for example, a laptop-pillow called IKEA Board, and that does not cost that much. You can also take a look at the laptop cooler, a product that has received good reviews from various quarters. In Sweden, inter alia, to purchase from coolstuff for 399 dollars.

IrfanView - image viewer with smart features

Actually IrfanView a standard image viewer. The main point of the tool is that you are in a good way to look at your digital pictures on your hard drive, browse them and quickly find the right. This part works just fine, and I can recommend IrfanView for those who are just looking for an image viewer. This type of tool is a great addition to an image editing program, since these can be a little tough to work if you just want to look at the pictures.

IrfanView has evolved from just being able to display images, to also be able to make simple adjustments to them. It is not teeming with features and I would not go so far as to call the utility for an image editing program, but you can actually edit your pictures here in. It works pretty smoothly. IrfanView as editor is a choice for you with minimal requirements. You just want to make simple small changes, but to work with an advanced image editor.

A Swedish translation is available for download. You first need to download and install the software via download link in the menu. Once that's done, download and install Swedish-installer from Languages.  Finally, start IrfanView and select Options> Languages.

New computer draw 0 watts in sleep mode - Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo

Fujitsu Siemens launches just in time for summer Esprimo P7935 and E7935 .It is the world's first computer models that consume 0 watts in sleep mode. The technology presented at the ongoing CeBIT show in Hanover.

The big electronics trade fair CeBIT going on right now down in Hanover, Germany. The world's leading electronics companies are of course on hand to compete for attention among the visitors and press people. One of the trump cards from Fujitsi Siemens this year, the company's newly developed technology for computers that should produce 0 watts power consumption in sleep mode.

The beauty of it is that computers, although they therefore consumes minimal power in sleep mode, can be set to be activated for a predetermined period of time to search for and install any available updates. The idea is that technology must be able to save some money on electricity bills by large companies. There it is usual for most computers simply are turned on all the time because you can not afford to lose time on updates and other things have to be made during normal working hours.

Many computers today continue to consume power in sleep mode or when they are completely closed. You may have noticed yourself of different buttons that light on the computer although it is off, for example. The EU has to take decisions on new ruleswhich mean that new electronic devices in standby mode can not deduct more than 0.5 watts from 2013. These rules meet the new Fujitsu Siemens Computers by far.

Esprimo P7935 and E7935 will be available this summer.

Card Reader from Transcend to Recovery Program

Transcend, a company which produces memory cards, has launched a card reader that connects via USB. The card reader, Transcend P8, comes with software that is able to recover deleted files from memory cards.

Memory Card Reader Transcend P8 looks like card readers usually do, even if it is a little nicer than average. The interface device measuring 78 x 46 x 16 millimeters and is available in black and white. The price tag was set at 168 crowns.

P8 supports a wide range of sizes of memory cards: CF, SD, SDHC, MMC, MMC plus, RS-MMC, MMC mobile, micro SD, micro SDHC and Memory Stick, and mini SD, mini SDHC, and MMC micro if you have a special adapter. The slots are clearly marked with name and illustration on each card. The device connects to the computer via USB 2.0.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Transcend P8 is that it comes with a software to recover deleted or corrupted images.  Sometimes it happens that you accidentally delete a digital photography through camera, and using a program like this it is possible to save the photo.

Asus Eee PC Box B204: New version of Desktop Eee PC

Asus has really worked on with its Eee PC concept. What started as a tiny low-cost mini-computer, has developed into all sorts of things - including a desktop PC called the Eee PC Box.  Now let Asus a new version of this mini-desktop computer.

Asus Eee PC Box B204 comes in black or white, and the computer itself does not measure more than 223 x 178 x 16 mm. It comes with a stand to put in the box, and then the course a few millimeters larger. Wireless mouse and wireless keyboard included in the package, so all you need is a screen to connect it to.

This is one of the news comes into the picture. ASUS has namely equipped Eee PC Box B204 with an HDMI port , meaning you can connect your computer to your flat screen TV in the living room. Then it starts to get exciting - at least on paper. During Wednesday I will have the opportunity to test drive the computer, and I will then try how it works to use it as a media device to play movies on my flat screen TV. I will return so with a test on the computer.

I should also mention that the Eee PC Box B204 has Bluetooth, a 160GB hard drive (5400 RPM) and wireless network that supports 802.11n. Internal memory is 1 GB and the processor, not surprisingly, an Intel Atom at 1.6 GHz. However, it is no Intel graphics, but it is an ATI Radeon HD 3450 256 MB in the jar.

Another interesting detail is that you have put a Eee PC 701 battery in your computer.  It is usually not found in desktop machines, and it is only half an hour, but there is a good reason. The idea is that you should be able to put across such films from their own computer, and then disconnect the Eee PC to carry it into the living room without having to shut down the system.

That said, I'll be back with a test later this week!

Run Linux in Windows with Portable Ubuntu

Now you can run Windows and Linux on your machine simultaneously - without having to make a few reboots. Portable Ubuntu is a Linux distribution that you are running directly in Windows. To have both Windows and Linux installed on the same computer is almost common practice among sophisticated computer users. Many Linux users have a Windows installation on their machine as some games and applications simply can not run on Linux. The disadvantage of having two different systems on one machine is that it usually requires a restart to restart your computer with the other system than the one you are running at the moment. Portable Ubuntuis a Linux distribution that solves this problem for you.

The system is built around Colinux Kernel, Xming X server and Pulseaudio server for Windows. Windows sees the program as a regular application and you simply run the Linux system in a normal window in Windows. Portable Ubuntu works well on XP, Vista and the available beta versions of upcoming Windows 7.

The installation file for the program is 439 MB big, which makes it well suited to be on a USB stick. The documentation for Portable Ubuntu leaves unfortunately a lot to be desired. The questions or concerns you have about the system, you will instead try to get answered in the forum on the project website - and it screams pretty empty at this moment. If you are familiar with Linux in general and the Ubuntu distribution in particular, teaches you to have no difficulty with that use the Portable Ubuntu.

Sony Vaio P cool handheld computer comes to Sweden

Sony Vaio P , a tiny computer, was one of the toughest stuff that was shown at CES earlier this year. Now will the finally to Sweden, but quality costs money, it ...

Sony has been clear to indicate that the Vaio P should not be placed in the same compartment as mini-computers (netbooks) and it shows on the price tag.12 000 SEK will in fact cost. Do you have money left over, it seems that if you get something really fun.

The computer does not measure more than 12 × 24.5 × 2 cm and weighs approximately 640 grams. The screen is 8 inches and can accommodate the entire 1600 × 768 pixels, which according to the source makes it a bit time-consuming to get it right if you use the stylus. The keyboard is of course too small, but not too small for it not to go to work with.

As operating systems have unfortunately chosen Windows Vista, which is far more demanding than XP - the OS that would otherwise tend to be common in smådatorerna. It seems that Sony will come to replace Vista to Windows 7. Exactly when the Sony Vaio P is in the shop is not clear. Probably just in time for summer.

Recording time in minutes at Kingston's new card

Kingston will go on to present their card for home users in a different way - in minutes video instead of megabytes. This is to facilitate, with the memory cards are becoming increasingly common in digital camcorders.

Memory is marked today with how much room they have - for example, 2, 8, 16 GB. For home users with no technical knowledge say this is not so much if you're buying a card for its new digital video camera. Therefore, Kingston to launch a series of SDHC memory cards instead is marked by how long the film is capable of escaping. This compares to the old days, when we used cassette tapes to record music:

    - Was the C60 on the label, it meant an hour of recording time, is crystal clear. Here are some of the same for all with digital camcorders. Today, shooting more and more becoming more and more often with high memory demanding resolution. With our new labeling makes it easy to get an idea of how long the memory card is enough before it's time to empty or change, "said Kingston's Nordic marketing manager Maria Norbäck.

The three new cards will be marked 60, 120 and 240 minutes. The space is 4, 8 and 16 GB. The smallest memory card available in shops today, at a price of 130 crowns, while the others later in this quarter. Here, however, no pricing information available yet.

All of the cards in this new series is in SDHC Class 4 , which means transfer rate 4 MB per second. The other regular classes are 2 and 6 respectively. The file system is FAT32, and the cards are not compatible with devices that only use SD memory cards.
